Laundry Day.

Really is there anything interesting that can be said about laundry day?? While I do not mind the actual chore of putting pre-sorted clothing into the washer than into the dryer it is the rest of it that I could do without. Going from our room to the kids rooms to collect all their laundry is a pain. Especially when every once in a while you reach out and touch something wet...and are unsure where the liquid came from to make that particular article wet. *gag* It can be a bit of a Russian roulette, I must say.
With my morning sickness kicking my butt (I haven't already mentioned that, have I? lol) I run outta energy pretty quickly! I do tend to make it to noon and then am done! Nothing left to give. So a few nights ago I asked my hubby if he could carry the 80lbs laundry hampers downstairs for me...because seriously carrying three hampers down the stairs to the laundry room does me in. Too many treks up and down the stairs. I figured if my hubby could at least carry them down there maybe just maybe I could actually wash, dry and fold it.
So that was like 4 days ago. I did do a load 2 days ago of Finn's sheets and blankets because that little boy seems to hold ALL his pee until bedtime. And each and every morning he wakes up soaked in his own urine. Fun! Although a couple days ago I invested in some nighttime extra absorbancy diapers and 2 days in a row he has woken up dry, dry, dry! YaY!
So Zeke has no school today for one reason or another, Chico never has school on Fridays and well Finn is always my constant companion. So I decided today was laundry day. It is 11:30 and I have one load drying, one load washing and 2 loads sorted and waiting. Not bad...but really I don't see how much more can get done since the clock is ticking closer and closer to noon. And it all goes downhill from there!

Baking a baby.

Now that the surprise of having another baby has sort of worn off, morning sickness has fully kicked in. Ugh! It really sux!

I have to say that this morning sickness is quite different from the boys. With all three of them I would wake up in the morning and throw up immediately. Then I would feel queasy throughout the day but it was definately at its peak first thing in the morning. With this one I wake up feeling really tired and kinda blah but not super nauseaus. I have not thrown up in the morning once.

I have NEVER napped every single day in the first trimester but there is no way right now I would make it through the day if I didn't. Right now the routine is to pick Chico up from school, feed him and Finn and then put Finn down for a nap. As soon as Finn is in bed I curl up on the couch and sleep until he wakes up.

With this baby my worst morning sickness is in fact in the evening. I feel awful starting at about 5:00. And it progressively gets worse and worse. I remember feeling blah in the evenings and needing to go to bed at 8 with the others but with this one I go to bed to fall asleep so I can forget about how awful I feel.

I have only *cross my fingers* thrown up once so far. It was after a particularly terribly evening and I crawled into bed hoping for sleep to blissfully take me away from how horrible I was feeling. I tossed and turned and slept intermittedly for a few hours. Finally I awake at 3:30am and bolted for the bathroom. It hurt and was awful but at least then I was finally able to sleep...till 7:00 when the three boys woke up.

Luckily for me though I have a husband and some really good friends who are taking care of me the best they can. I am not doing a good job keeping up with the housework right now and my hubby comes home from work and finishes what I didn't. He picks up toys, does the dishes and wipes down counters and the table. I know he doesn't feel like doing it but he does it anyway and doesn't complain.

I also have 2 friends who have offered to take one or two of my children at a time. Yesturday I sent Finn over to my friend's house to play with her 1 year old for 3 hours so I could sleep. And I did. For about 2.5 hours. It was awesome!!!

Today that same friend came and picked Chico and Finn up and took them to the indoor playground here in town for 3 hours. She met up with another friend and the two of them together kept watch over our 6 children all together. I was SO grateful. Again I slept for a good chunk of that time.

I am 8 weeks now so I am hoping I am almost through the worst of it. I know that by 12 weeks I will feel somewhat better and will be able to function without needing to sleep. If it could take a turn for the better in the next couple weeks that would be wonderful because I am afraid that the good spirits of my husband and friends may run out before this gets better.

SURPRISE!

It has been a while since I last posted. We were very busy with Christmas and all the festivities that come with the season.

We spent Christmas with my inlaws and had lots of fun and ate lots of good food. The kids had a blast with their Grandparents and Auntie as well.

We also got some VERY unexpected news to start out the New Year. After just not feeling quite right for a couple weeks we found this out...

It looks like we will be welcoming a fourth and final member to our family in early September of this year! It is exciting...we are just trying to overcome the shock of it still. lol

Hockey Superstar!

Zeke loves hockey! He is in his second year of playing and has an amazing passion for the game. He gives it all he has when he is out there on that ice even if he isn't the best player out there. He improves each and every time he is on the ice. He plays fairly and with compassion. Often times he will stop to make sure a player is ok after running into someone and knocking them down. I am always proud of his efforts!

Today his team had a game and they actually  played like a team! It was amazing because up to this point all the players played for themselves. But today they were passing between each other and working together to score. And score they did!! I think the final score was something like 12 - 3.

Zeke did not score a single goal...except that one goal was counted as his because he shot the puck and the opposing player scored on their own net. But he managed to shoot the puck 3 times straight across the crease not scoring. He was all over the ice getting the puck moving and passing it to his teammates. At one point he was racing across the ice with the puck with two opposing players hot on his trail. I was pretty proud.

And he won the Super Sport of the game today too which each player gets to win once during the season. To Zeke it is the epitomy of success so each game he strives to win it. He was SO excited to get it. And I was glad he got it on a day when he actually didn't score a goal so it showed him that in fact scoring doesn't necessarily mean you are a star player...it is the teamwork that is important.

Now if only the kid could learn to stop instead of spinning to a stop, running into the boards to stop or just falling down! :-)

Updated Pictures

While out in the woods trying to get a good group photo for our Christmas card this year I managed to snag the 3 photos of the boys to your right. I think they are awesome! I cannot believe how old all 3 of them have gotten and just how handsome they are.

They may drive me crazy some days but I am so proud of them. They are amazing boys with unique personalities and abilities. I am pretty lucky to be able to say I am their mom. Hopefully they feel the same about me.

On the road again...

On the road again...Just can't wait to get on the road again...

Ok, well that is a lie cuz while I love to travel I hate to drive! I REALLY do...which some may find unbelievable as I am a total control freak and feel the need to be in charge of everything possible. But driving is not my cup of tea. I am however an awesome backseat driver! Just as my hubby!

So tomorrow morning after Zeke and Finn get up (who am I kidding...after I get up!) and everyone has breakie and is dressed we are heading South! We are driving to the inlaws where my hubby and sweet (haha!) middle child are right now.

And on Monday we are making our way to my dad's hometown to burry (barry...ummm bary...I dunno!) my grandfather. The three boys will be staying with the inlaws while hubby and I go to the funeral. Zeke does have the option of coming but I am pretty sure that he will choose to stay with Gramma and Papa - his two most favourite people in the world - than come with us. Although his curiousity may get the best of him...he is seriously curious and wants to know ALL there is to know! Which explains why the child barely has time to breath between sentences all day long. Every. Single. Day.

Our plan is to stay the night and then return to the inlaws on Tuesday. And on Wednesday the oldest and youngest and I will head back to the Great White North so that I can continue with my oh kill me now difficult so easy and fantastic evening bootcamp class *cough*, so Zeke doesn't miss too many days of school since he is now in French immersion and is technically a year behind everyone in his class since they all started in kindergarten, and so I can get my pulpectomy (aka root canal) on Thursday. (How is that for a run on sentence!) LUCKY ME! *sigh*

So it will be a quick trip out of the Great White North but should be fun and sad at the same time! Hopefully the roads are dry and the weather stays calm so we make it safe and sound!

An unexciting account of random errands!

Today I had a busy day with the eldest and the youngest boys!

Zeke had school this morning only since Fridays are early dismissal days (I don't get it but whatever works I guess). While waiting outside for Zeke to be dismissed I was chatting with one of the other moms that I do chat with quite often. Somehow it came out that she grew up in the same town as me and that her hubby went to my highschool.  lol I of course rushed home to see if I could find him in my yearbook...turns out that he graduated before I started at the school. Small world!

After we picked Zeke up from school we went home to wrap up a birthday gift for a friends 5th birthday party.

We then rushed out to Wendy's to have a healthy meal. Haha! Actually though it was better than you often get at a fast food restaurant. I had a salad with low fat dressing while the boys each had nuggets and marndarine oranges. :-) I really wanted a Baconator so I think I did quite well...at least the salad had bacon in it (cuz my moto is 'bacon makes everything better'!)! lol

After our healthy lunch at Wendy's we rushed off to the birthday party. It was a blast with lots of running, jumping, bouncing, hockey sticks and balls. You know typical fun boy activities. Finn had a blast swinging hockey sticks around. We had pizza and cake before letting the birthday boy rip open his gifts.

From there we rushed off to the photo lab to get some prints done of photos of Grandpa for the funeral. There is going to a display put together of photos of Grandpa with all of his family so I needed to get some printed. With an hour to kill we crossed thes street to Walmart! Woo hoo!

We wandered through the toy aisles while Zeke picked out no less than 10000000 toys that he needed and Finn chewed on the cart! lol That's a great way to NOT get H1N1, right?

After spending some money...mostly on Christmas giftst...we headed back to get the photos and then drove home...

With a quick stop at Starbucks! Mmmmm...my chai latte was delicious! And we picked up a mommy movie and a Zeke movie from the little cheapo kiosk in Safeway. How can I turn down renting movies for a $1.87 each.

THEN we went home to eat leftover Shepherd's pie. Yummm!

The boys were in a bed a bit later than usual but all was silent by 7:30! YaY! And then I planted my butt on the love seat to watch my movie!

It is funny how much I can accomplish and how calm my days are without Chico! Love the boy to death but man is he ever a drama-prince...or something like that. Seriously what is up with middle children? Are they all nuts? Or is it just the age...3 year olds definately test my patience! Zeke did at 3 and now Chico does...although I must say he has tested my patience his whole life not just since turning 3. Thank goodness he is SO cute! lol
